This week at AK Masonry we were able to help a home owner in Norton, Ohio with a complete rebuild of his crumbling chimney. We noticed leaks in and around the chimney causing water infiltration into his attic. The owner was really concerned about mold and other issues with water getting into his house.

Brick projects
- Tuck pointing
- restoration
It's important to have at least 7 inches of flue liner above the mudwash.
We replaced over 170 bricks with new corbling bricks but often times we are able to reuse brick when we do restorations on older homes. This allows us to keep the existing look and feel of your brick work.
Mud wash - This is a thin layer of portland cement to provide a seal over the chimney to keep out water. It's a very important finishing step.
